Tyler is a powerlifting and strength specialist with over a decade of competitive and coaching experience. He's coached athletes from their very first lift all the way to the Australian Championships — and he trains just as hard as the athletes he coaches.

Based at Unbound Athletic in North Lakes, Tyler uses VALD performance technology and evidence-based programming to give every athlete a genuine edge. He believes powerlifting is for everyone and builds programs that prove it.

What happens in the Foundation Session?+
The Foundation Session is a comprehensive 1-on-1 in-person session at Unbound Athletic. Tyler runs VALD force plate and strength testing, reviews your technique on the squat, bench and deadlift, and uses that data to write you a custom 4-week training plan. You leave with a written report and a program built specifically for you.
Do I need any powerlifting experience?+
Zero experience needed. Tyler coaches true beginners regularly and it's one of his favourite things to do. The Foundation Session is actually the ideal starting point — the VALD testing removes all guesswork and gives Tyler the data to build your program correctly from day one.
What's the difference between the Foundation Session and ongoing coaching?+
The Foundation Session is a one-time in-person assessment and program. Individual Coaching is ongoing week-to-week programming with direct access to Tyler, weekly check-ins and continuous adjustments. Many athletes start with the Foundation Session and move into ongoing coaching after.
How does online coaching work?+
Coaching runs through an app and WhatsApp. You log sessions, upload technique videos and Tyler provides feedback. Weekly check-ins keep communication tight and programming is adjusted every block based on your progress.
Can Tyler help me prepare for a competition?+
Absolutely — competition prep is one of Tyler's strongest areas. He handles the peaking block, attempt selection, weight class management and is available on meet day. He's coached athletes at APL State and National Championship level.
What does $60/week individual coaching include?+
A 100% individualised program updated every block, direct messaging access to Tyler, weekly video technique feedback, nutrition guidance and full competition prep support including peak, taper and meet day attempt selection.
Are the programs suitable for women?+
100%. Tyler coaches both men and women at all levels. Powerlifting programming principles are universal — loads and targets differ but the structure and approach work equally for everyone.
