Session Structure

50 Minutes.
Five Phases.

Every class follows the same structured format. Progression comes from the 6-week cycle — not random workouts.

01
Primers

Movement Prep

Targeted warm-up to prime positions for the day's lifts. Mobility, activation, and barbell patterning.

02
Strength

Strength Work

Heavy pulling and squatting progressions. Building the base that makes your lifts stronger and more stable.

03
Speed

Speed Work

Snatch and clean & jerk variations at speed. Position, timing, and turnover — the lifts themselves.

04
Interference

Interference Work

Accessory and interference sets that challenge stability and coordination under accumulating fatigue.

05
Stress Test

Oly Metcon

Short, sharp metcons using the Olympic lifts. The real test — can you maintain technique when you're breathing hard?

Why This Class

Technique Under Fatigue.
That's the Difference.

Most Olympic lifting classes stop at technique drills. We don't. Every session ends with a stress test — an oly-based metcon that forces you to hold positions when your lungs and legs are screaming at you to cut corners.

Because competition, game day, and real life don't hand you a barbell when you're fresh. If you can snatch well when you're tired, you can snatch well anywhere.

  • 6-week periodised cycles — not random workouts
  • Stress test finishers every session
  • Capped at 15 for real coaching and feedback
  • Specialist coach — not a generalist running a WOD
  • Separate from regular membership — dedicated focus
  • Designed for athletes who want to move better under pressure

The Stress Test

Every session ends with an oly metcon — short, sharp, high-intent work using the Olympic lifts under different types of fatigue. Aerobic, anaerobic, grip, positional. This is where good movers become great movers.

"Good movers all move well. To do that, you need to train it."

Questions

Oly Lifting FAQ

Is this included in my Unbound membership?+
No. Olympic Weightlifting is a standalone specialty class with its own pricing. It's not included in Foundation or Premium memberships. You purchase a 10-session pack ($240) or drop in at $35 per session.
What level do I need to be?+
You should have some experience with a barbell — you don't need to be an advanced lifter, but you should be comfortable with basic movements like squats, deadlifts, and front squats. If you've been doing CrossFit or strength training for a few months, you'll be fine.
What are the stress test pieces?+
Short, sharp metcons (conditioning pieces) that use the Olympic lifts — snatches, cleans, jerks — under different types of fatigue. The goal is to train you to maintain safe, efficient technique when you're breathing hard, not just when you're fresh.
When does it start?+
First class drops Monday 13 July 2026. After that it runs every Monday and Wednesday at 5:30pm, 50 minutes per session, in ongoing 6-week cycles.
How do I book?+
Purchase your 10-pack or drop-in through our contact page, then book individual sessions via the Wodify app. Each class is capped at 15 — book early to secure your spot.
Do the 10-pack sessions expire?+
Contact us for details on pack validity. Sessions can be used across any Monday or Wednesday class.
Who is Billy May?+
Billy is a specialist Olympic weightlifting coach joining the Unbound team specifically to run this program. This isn't a generalist coaching a side class — Billy's focus is on making you a better lifter.
Can I do this alongside my regular membership?+
Absolutely. Many members will train their regular Strength & Fitness classes and add the Oly class on top. The Monday and Wednesday 5:30pm timeslot is designed to fit around the regular timetable.
